At Least We Look On Your Browser History Than Porn!

No P.c.P today. Just like the Shrek movies, we're taking him off your screens for a little bit to keep him from getting stale.

So it's been a bit of a slow writing week. For one thing, I've been searching for a bit of inspiration. For another, YOU try following an article that has Dylf leaping out of a bearclaw bathtub naked and erect after trying to breathe underwater while drunk.

Also, I was deciding how to respond to the fact that he visualized (and published said visualization) me riding a unicorn between his knees while doing so. In the end I decided not to address it at all, because... well... wait, why do I feel like I need to state a reason why out loud? I should think the reason is obvious.

Inspiration found.

According to a report, all the SEC was monitoring during the financial crisis was porn:
http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/sec-pornography-employees-spent-hours-surfing-porn-sites/story?id=10452544

Office employees surfing porn? How unimaginable.

People working for the government not operating at peak efficiency? Color me shocked.

What really gets me about this one is that their seems to be more of an outrage about PORN than there is about the employees at the SEC who we're surfing said porn instead of monitoring that little financial breakdown.

Now sure, anyone with half a brain knows that this story is going to get blown out of proportion because of North America's financial position. OK, yeah, this is a pretty serious issue and I'm not going to pretend it isn't. But there is no reason to believe that anyone could have averted the crisis, with or without porn. There is no evidence to support that theory. And the only reason it's getting this much attention is because of the financial crisis. Otherwise this barely would have achieved footnote status.

But you're really going to blame porn?

Really?

REALLY.

Holy what the fuck.

It's just fucking incredible.

So... then was it Monica's fault that Clinton got a hummer under the desk? He's a government official. Maybe without her we could have resolved Kosovo before we had to bomb the shit out of them.

And was it the fault of the voluminous amount of whores that we're fucking Tiger Woods that he cheated on his wife? Was it the fault of the computer that Martha Stewart used to send those e-mails that she insider traded? Was it Angelina's fault that Brad left Jennifer?

No. No. IDIOTS. If it wasn't porn it would have been Facebook. If it wasn't Facebook it would have been YouTube. If it wasn't YouTube it would have been Solitaire. If it wasn't Solitaire it would have been Minesweeper. And if it wasn't Minesweeper, maybe, just maybe... it would have been B.@.D Live Reloaded.

Ha! Just kidding. Minesweeper kicks our ass in terms of entertainment value. But at least it would have made for a less damaging headline! Maybe we should market ourselves like that:
B.@.D Live Reloaded - if you're supposed to be working and are caught slacking off online, at least this won't look as bad on your browser history as porn will!

Point is, had NONE of that, nor a million other distractions been available at that moment, is there a moron out there who ACTUALLY BELIEVES that suddenly, distraction-free and clear-headed, that they would have gone "holy shit, the capitalist system is collapsing!" and fixed it?

Jesus God Alimghty, I hope not.

Also, it seems to be the public narrative now that that these government officials who view porn are considered "sleazy" now. All of a sudden they are not worthy of working for the government.

Right.

Obviously this is bullshit to the Nth degree, but if they're worried about the SEC being sleazy, just for fun, let's compare them against Congress:
  • 29 Members of Congress have been accused of spousal abuse
  • 7 Have been arrested for fraud
  • 19 Have been accused of writing bad checks
  • 117 Have bankrupted at least two businesses
  • 3 Have been arrested for assault
  • 71 Have credit reports so bad they can't qualify for a credit card.
  • 14 Have been arrested on drug related charges
  • 8 Have been arrested for shoplifting
  • 21 Are current defendants in lawsuits
  • 84 Were stopped for drunk driving in 1998 alone, but released after they claimed congressional immunity.

Phew.

And Congress will likely have something to do with judging the individuals at the SEC because they we're looking at porn during the financial crisis.

Your tax dollars at work!

It's just incomprehensible.

I'm sure glad I have another sense of humor. Otherwise it would be reading things like this that would lead me to drive to Washington to set buildings ablaze.

Song For Today:
"Never Forget" (Tritonal HALO3 Bootleg)
- Michael Salvatori

Albums For Today:
"Trance World" Series
- Various Artists
(In celebration of the 10th installment of this series, I thought I'd highlight them all. Possibly my favorite trance compilation series aside from A State Of Trance. A different Armada DJ does each one, so they're all differnt, while at the same time they all have a similar feel. My personal favorites are the volumes from Sean Tyas, Aly & Fila, and Robert Nickson.)

I agree - I think if they had been able to prevent it, who cares what they we're doing on the side?

Fire them because they failed miserably and it cost us dearly - not because they we're whacking it to porn.

Interesting, and timely - last night we watched 'Capitalism: A Love Story' - a Michael Moore film... makes me pretty happy that i don't have to put up with any of that crap from over here... his website has some interesting articles, including this one: http://www.michaelmoore.com/words/latest-news/senate-probe-goldman-planned-profit-bust

I know some people hate him and his views, but he really is quite clever if you ask me...
