It's my Birthday!

So today is my Birthday - i am now 27 years of age. By the time you guys read this, my day will be pretty much over, because like i like to remind you alot, you are living in my past :)

I'll be celebrating my day of birth at work. Last year i took a sick day but this year i see no alternative but to see work through. We're going out for a work dinner, which is coincidental, but at least will make for a fun night out. This weekend the husband and i are booked into a suite at the Hilton in Melbourne for a couple of nights of relaxation.

An advantage of growing up in a single parent household meant that you got pretty spoiled around birthday time. I would write list after list of things that i wanted as gifts. I even went as far as writing a letter to my mum when i was about 8 thanking her for giving birth to me in June so that i had a reason for writing a wish list every 6 months. Don't get me wrong, growing up with one income was tough and my wishlist consisted mostly of just that - wishes.

If i wasn't here at work celebrating my birthday, and i could wish to be somewhere else i wonder where i would choose? I think i would be travelling somewhere. That's my passion. But only if it was with family or friends. I think the best thing to reflect on this birthday, is that i'm just really happy i'm me...
